Lea Popinjač (Zagreb, Croatia, 1981) graduated from the Faculty of Textile Technology in 2003 and completed her studies at the Teaching Department of the Academy of Fine Arts, University of Zagreb, in 2012 under Professor Zlatan Vrkljan. Since 2020, she has been an assistant professor at the Faculty of Textile Technology. In addition to her academic work, Popinjač actively creates paintings and participates in solo and group exhibitions both in Croatia and internationally. She also designs and leads art workshops. In 2016, she undertook a two-month residency at the Cité internationale des arts in Paris. She is a member of the Croatian Association of Artists (HDLU) and the Association of Applied Arts Artists (ULUPUH). Popinjač is the recipient of the 5th Ivana Vraneković – Vladimir Dodig Trokut Biennial of Painting award, focusing on the theme “Artist to Artist.” She currently lives and works in Zagreb.
