Prats

Helena Roig Prats is a visual artist specializing in documentary photography, living between the Netherlands and her native Spain. Her work is driven by collaboration and community-building processes and often highlights the perverse relationship between media and power. Since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, while lamenting her photography studies at the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague, her artistic practice has focused on dissecting the concept of digital intimacy and how its narratives circulate among millennials. Her storytelling is characterized by humor, randomness, and radical honesty. She has showcased her work through exhibitions, screenings, and performances at venues such as The Gray Space in the Middle (The Hague), Espai nyamnyam (Mieres), the La Bianyal art festival (Olot), the Contemporary Art Centre Bòlit (Girona), Impakt Festival (Utrecht), DE BOUWPUT (Amsterdam), Berlin Film Porn Festival, Weimar Queer Film Festival, STIFF Gallery SKC (Rijeka), the International Women’s* Theatre Festival (Frankfurt, Germany), and elsewhere.
